The fourth concert of the Taimana Ensemble's 2016 Concert Series focuses on the music of 21st century, with Australian composers complimented by their American contemporaries. The rhythmic dances and soaring melodies of Ross Edwards meet the combination of awestruck imagery and simple consolation of Brett Dean's Huntington Eulogy, followed by Elena Kats-Chernin's depiction of the limitless and unpredictable nature of the sea. The programmatic Cinderella Suite by Elizabeth Raum and the colourful, erratic Trio by Lowell Liebermann round out the concert.
